Student Assistance Available
JobLink is currently recruiting students that need financial assistance for training beginning Fall 2009. Candidates should be full time curriculum students.(Already attending full time or planning to be full time in the fall semester.) All aid available for the summer semester, 2009, has been awarded.
Candidates who have already been enrolled should have at least a 2.5 gpa. Assistance is available based on the family income of the student. (Those receiving Food Stamps will receive first priority).
Students receiving Pell Grant funds or other types of financial aid are also eligible for this assistance.
A limited number of opportunities still exist in the WIA Adult program for the Fall 2009 semester. There are also other agencies with assistance available based upon qualifications. Examples are Coastal Community Action and Vocational Rehabilitation. There is also limited funding available (for those that qualify) for the JobsNow programs through Continuing Education.
All of these programs offer educational assistance. Anyone interested should contact JobLink staff as soon as possible. Most of these programs have a lengthy application/testing process and which can not be completed during college registration. Early birds get the worms!!!
This is not only open to current students, but potential Fall students as well. Potential candidates for this assistance should contact Cristy Lewis at the Pamlico JobLink Center, 252-745-9934, ASAP.
