What are the differences between Curriculum/Programs Of Study and Continuing Education classes?

Curriculum Education (Programs Of Study) classes are college-credit courses that result in the awarding of college credit upon satisfactory completion. These college-credit classes apply towards degree, diploma, and certificate programs. In addition, many Curriculum Education classes at PCC qualify for transfer college credit to other colleges, including four-year institutions.

Continuing Education classes are non-credit courses where you can train, retrain, or update yourself in a vocational or professional area. These classes also are a fit for those seeking instruction enabling them to grow in basic knowledge, improve in home and community life, and develop or improve skills in leisure time activities. Continuing Education classes are also provided for individuals seeking to earn a GED and achieve high school equivalency.
